Day 14 HOMS

David Hockney's A Bigger Splash presents an evocative image.
Do Now: Look over your three webs. Which of the three would make the most interesting story for a classmate to read? Why?

Today's Learning Target:
I will be able to describe important features of a vignette and think about how I could incorporate them into a vignette that I write about my life.
I will know that I have hit the learning target when...
-I can point to important features of a vignette such as imagery and figurative language in chapters from The House on Mango Street.
-I can list some images or examples of figurative language that I might use in a vignette that I write about my life.

Agenda:
  1. Examples of figurative language and imagery (when and how they are used)
  2. Using imagery and figurative language, describe a place where one of your events is set
  3. Exit ticket: when is the best time for a writer to use imagery? Figurative language?

Homework: make a list of the beginning, middle, and ending for each event
PLEASE SET UP A REMINDER TO BRING YOUR OUTSIDE READING BOOK TO CLASS DURING EVERY TRIPLE (MONDAY FOR INDIGO AND WEDNESDAY FOR GREEN)
