Day 11 HOMS


Do Now: What inference did you make based on the chart we completed during yesterday's class? Explain.

Today's Learning Target:
I will be able to draft an idea-based topic sentence and choose three pieces of evidence to support it.
I will know that I have hit the learning target when...
-I can describe what a strong topic sentence needs to include.
-I can find the best evidence from my chart to support the topic sentence I have written.

Homework: Create a T-chart that compares and contrasts Esperanza with your summer reading book protagonist. List at least three similarities and three differences. You will use this graphic organizer for an in-class writing assignment on Friday.
PLEASE SET UP A REMINDER TO BRING YOUR OUTSIDE READING BOOK TO CLASS DURING EVERY TRIPLE (MONDAY FOR INDIGO AND WEDNESDAY FOR GREEN)
