Day 10 HOMS

Do Now: How is Esperanza like other coming-of-age heroes? How is she different?

Today's Learning Target:
I will be able to compare and contrast characters from The House on Mango Street and write thoughtfully about a conclusion I draw about their similarities and differences.
I will know that I have hit the learning target when...
-I can choose two characters and complete a T-chart listing how they are similar and how they are different.
-I can use my evidence to make an inference about the characters and write about it.

Agenda:

  2. Thinking and Writing
  3. Group discussion (share line/question and connect to EQ or literary device)
Homework: Using the six habits, read and annotate pp. 100-110 (if you're assigned one of these chapters, then prepare your key line, explanation, and question in the proper document). 
PLEASE SET UP A REMINDER TO BRING YOUR OUTSIDE READING BOOK TO CLASS DURING EVERY TRIPLE (MONDAY FOR INDIGO AND WEDNESDAY FOR GREEN)
