Day 13 HOMS

Do Now: What is the most memorable chapter from The House on Mango Street? Why do you think it stands above the others?

Today's Learning Target:
I will be able to describe important features of a vignette and think about how I could incorporate them into a vignette that I write about my life.
I will know that I have hit the learning target when...
-I can point to important features of a vignette such as imagery and figurative language in chapters from The House on Mango Street.
-I can list some images or examples of figurative language that I might use in a vignette that I write about my life.

Agenda:
  1. Favorite Chapters
  2. Personal vs. Analytical Writing
  3. Cisneros and the art of the vignette

Homework: begin brainstorming for your own vignette by creating a web that includes at least three memorable moments from your life and at least three details about each one
PLEASE SET UP A REMINDER TO BRING YOUR OUTSIDE READING BOOK TO CLASS DURING EVERY TRIPLE (MONDAY FOR INDIGO AND WEDNESDAY FOR GREEN)
