Day 7

What new perspective does your hero gain?

Do Now: Re-read the rubric for the book assignment and make note of any categories your group needs to improve. Be prepared to tell me at least one of the areas from the rubric you will work on today.

Today's objectives:
Students will be able to...
-recognize how elements of the Coming-of-Age archetype apply to a story they know
-describe how authors use archetypes with different purposes

Agenda: 
  1. Why archetypes? What do these patterns tell us about people in general?
  2. Continuing the Coming-of-Age Book Assignment (due at the end of Tuesday's class)
  3. Exit ticket: what is one word that best sums up the protagonist of your summer reading book?
Homework: find a copy of the book you've chosen from the outside reading list and read the first chapter
