Do Now: Where in chapter 10 do the characters begin worrying about their sanity? 

Today's Learning Target:

I will be able to relate Freud's Theory of the Mind to characters in the novel and explain how this idea sheds light on what is happening in the novel.

I will know that I have hit the learning target when...
-I can connect the three parts of the mind to three characters in the novel.
-I can explain how the imbalance among these three characters/parts of the mind relates to the lack of rational behavior among the boys on the island.

3. Exit ticket: of the two theories we've explored (Plato's Tripartite Soul and Freud's Theory of the Mind), which one makes better sense to you? Why?
