Day 18 LOTF

Do NowIf you were thrust into a Lord of the Flies-like situation, how would you contribute to the group's attempt to maintain order?

Today's Learning Target:
I will be able to add recent examples of the symbol my group is tracking and describe how the symbol is used towards the end of the novel.
I will know that I have hit the learning target when...
-I can 
locate at least two more examples of my group's symbol from chapters 10-12.
-I can explain how my group's symbol has stood for different things at different points in the novel and how this change relates to what's happening on the island.

  1. Unit Overview
  2. Symbol-tracking in Groups
  3. Exit Ticket: Look over your group's nine examples. Which one best reveals the symbol's meaning? Why?

Homework: In preparation for tomorrow's Socratic seminar, look for at least two examples from the text to support your theme response. (Hint: use the shared files from the symbol groups.)
BRING A NOTEBOOK AND PEN/PENCIL TO TOMORROW'S AUTHOR PRESENTATION
